We are blessed with a fantastic Board, with a great balance of public sector experience and private sector insight (see their profiles). So whilst holding a Board Meeting (in a duckhouse of all places) to discuss the allocation of our Growing Places Fund, the Board were very clear what they wanted. Jobs. And Growth. Now!
Accordingly we were the first LEP to open for proposals to the Growing Places Fund. Still, that wasn't hard as the Board were also clear that they wanted to keep things very simple. Bids are invited on 2 sides of A4 to go into a shortlisting process. Anyone and any organisation is eligible to bid, providing they can return jobs and growth on the investment. As they say on the adverts, 'Simples'.
