Helping our region get access to European funding

On 2 September the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Enterprise Partnership (the LEP) held a Discover EU Funding event, where 70 delegates along with the LEP’s European funding experts spent the morning talking about the European Structural Investment Fund (ESIF) Growth Programme.

An overview of the funding was provided which looked at our five strategic priorities. As well as this, there was an introduction to community led local development and technical assistance. Delegates were then invited to ask questions about the funding and the application process.

Three rounds of European funding for York, North Yorkshire and the East Riding are now open for applications and they are:

  • Research and Innovation – this call is for a programme that will promote business investment in research and innovation. There is £2 million in funding available and the call is open until 25 September 2015.
  • SME Support – this call is for proposals to provide support and advice that helps people running small and medium-sized businesses make better use of ICT. This call is for North Yorkshire only. £1 million of funding is available and it is open until 25 September 2015.
  • ICT Infrastructure – this is a call for a programme to extend the rollout of high speed broadband. This call is for North Yorkshire only. £1 million of funding is available and it is open until 25 September 2015.
