Launching our new growth hub: How’s Business
If you’re a small business owner doing the best with your business, then you deserve to find help from someone you can trust. That’s the idea behind HowsBusiness.org, the new resource for Yorkshire business owners who need practical suggestions and support from people they can rely on.
Launched today at the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Enterprise Partnership’s (The LEP) annual conference, How’s Business brings together the LEP’s online library of useful advice and events, with details of the expert advisors who’ve been helping business owners at the massively successful and informal Popup Business Cafés.
Over the next few months, business owners will be able to voice their view on business issues, tell business stories and share experiences of business support. The hope is this transparent view will give others the confidence and inspiration to start a conversation about their business too.
And, for time conscious business owners, you can get started, for free, online or in person without having to fill in any forms or questionnaires.
“It’s about creating conversations, not paperwork,’ said David Kerfoot MBE, Deputy Chair of the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Enterprise Partnership and Chairman of the Kerfoot Group. “When running a small business, time is one of your most valuable assets and mistakes are costly. We want small business owners to be able to quickly find someone they can trust.”
“The launch of How’s Business is a great first step in solving a problem that many small business owners face,” said Emma Smailes, Development Manager for the Federation of Small Businesses and part of the How’s Business steering group. “Namely, how to simplify the business support landscape so that business owners can quickly and easily get the help they need. I’m very excited to be working with the LEP to make sure that as How’s Business continues to grow, it meet the needs of the small business community.”
