LEP Statement Welcomes Department for Transport’s Investment
WE welcome the recent announcement from the Department for Transport (19 October) on the successful schemes from the National Productivity Investment Fund in our area.
In total £9.03 million of funding has been secured from the Department for Transport for three schemes here by our local partners in the City of York, North Yorkshire and East Riding.
The schemes will help to contribute towards housing and employment growth in our area, by helping to unlock key developments, and we will continue to work closely with local partners throughout the delivery of these schemes to assist in maximising the local economic benefits.
The successful schemes are:
East Riding of Yorkshire Council -A164 Riplingham Road Great Gutter Lane Junction
New roundabout at Kirk Ella, giving access to land for housing development.
Department for Transport funding £2.98million
North Yorkshire County Council -Enabling Development and Business Growth in West Harrogate
Highway and safety improvements along the Otley Road corridor to accommodate existing traffic and future growth.
Department for Transport funding £3.20million
City of York – STEP Smarter Transport Evolution Programme
New monitoring and analytical capability for real-time journey analysis and modelling across York and will allow York to prepare for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles.
Department for Transport funding £2.85million.
