LEP’s economic growth is strong as ONS reveals 3,155 more businesses this year
Further evidence that the economy of York, North Yorkshire and East Riding is growing was published this week. The Official Count of Businesses showed a net growth of 3,155 over the last year.
Figures show there were 51,365 businesses registered for VAT and/or PAYE in the LEP area in March 2015. When compared to 48,210 back in March 2014, it is clear to see that folk want to do business in Yorkshire.
There were 1,720 more businesses in North Yorkshire, 1,000 more in East Riding and 420 more in York.
Businesses in York, North Yorkshire and East riding are 10% more likely to survive five years than the national average. One way to maximise chances of business survival is accessing support and advice.
