Making Sustainability in the Agri-Food Sector Happen.24 February 2017
OUR Chair Barry Dodd CBE will be speaking at an event due to take place shortly on improving sustainability in the agri-food sector. He will be sharing his first-hand knowledge of how supply chains have innovated during recent years – experiences well suited to the growing food and farming sector which is a large part of our area’s economy.
The event, hosted by our partners from Sustainable Futures, takes place on Wednesday 8th March and is a coming together of supply chain partners to share lessons gained from collaboration in the first year of the Sustainable Futures programme.
Sustainable Futures is an initiative set up by Future Food Solutions Ltd. that brings together partners and stakeholders throughout the supply chain to share, discuss and learn current techniques and new innovations. The LEP have matched private sector funding for the Sustainable Futures programme.
The day will begin with a tea and coffee reception followed by a welcome address from Barry. A variety of speakers will follow, with an opportunity for questions and a floor discussion, ending with a lunchtime networking session.
Speakers will range from global brands to farmers, European partners, non-government organisations food companies, utilities and supply chain associates. They will outline what sustainability means to them and how developing the innovation agenda in this important area can benefit all companies involved.
