The Queens Awards for Enterprise: An Opportunity for Small Businesses22 August 2018
It’s been a while since we last sent you an email, but that doesn’t mean we’ve forgotten about you. My name is David Kerfoot and I am the Chair of the York, North Yorkshire, East Riding Local Enterprise Partnership, which is responsible for How’s Business. I wanted to write to you today to share my passion and vision for small and micro businesses across our region by encouraging you to apply for the Queens Awards for Enterprise.
Since becoming Chair, I have pinned my colours to the mast. I am out and proud as a passionate supporter of small and micro businesses; you are the beating heart and soul of the unique economic region that we are incredibly proud to serve. Over 90% of businesses in the region we serve are small businesses. This is a phenomenal figure and it tells me one thing–if you thrive, we all thrive.
The most important factor for any business large or small is reputation and credibility. I am an ardent supporter of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise and understand the incredible value it has to any business that is recognised and rewarded with it. Being a Deputy Lieutenant of this county I know the value this award adds to any business who are successful in achieving it. The award isn’t just for large business, it’s for all businesses. Achieving recognition through the Queens Award for Enterprise is a major reputation boost for any business; it adds value to your brand and raises your market profile.
It is my aim to champion you and your achievements. The QAE is something I believe in passionately and I know that the winners are in our region!
