We aim to maximise high speed rail investment through station improvements and better station access.
This includes getting York station high speed ready as a multi-modal, sustainable transport hub for the area and improving station access and facilities in our patch.
With large investment in HS2 we need to ensure our businesses can get high quality, quick access to this service. A successful North is one where the urban and rural areas work and connect together.
One of our major achievements has been achieving significant improvements in our rail services.
Improvements are being made to services in Scarborough, Harrogate, Selby, Hull and Skipton and include:
- Four trains per hour between Harrogate and Leeds.
- Twice as many trains between York, Malton and Scarborough.
- Increased rail frequency between York and Hull.
- Newer, better trains and investment in station facilities.
With government investing million in HS2, we need to ensure our businesses can get high quality, quick access to this new service. This will ensure that the whole of the North benefits form the investment, not just the cities.
